Arizona

Manufacturing and R&D

Since 1996, Intel has invested more than $20 billion to build high-tech manufacturing capacity in Arizona. The Ocotillo site has the distinction of manufacturing Intel’s latest technology. Each year, Intel spends more than $500 million to support research and development in Chandler. In 2012, Intel invested more than $300 million to build a new R&D facility at its Chandler Boulevard site. Nationally, Intel is ranked as the No. 1 investor in R&D among publicly traded U.S. companies.

Intel’s Environmental Stewardship

Intel’s manufacturing and R&D facilities feature energy and water conservation measures that exemplify Intel’s long track record of environmental stewardship. Intel’s new construction standards have been designed to meet or exceed Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold criteria. Intel’s new R&D facility in Chandler was awarded LEED Gold certification in 2014.

In 2011, Intel became the first semiconductor company to obtain LEED certification for existing buildings for its entire Chandler manufacturing campus.

Intel in the Community

In 2013, Intel employees, Intel Corp. and the Intel Foundation gave more than $12.7 million in grants, donations and in-kind gifts to local schools, universities, non-profits and the Valley of the Sun United Way.
