This agenda includes our positions on the vast issues facing the state’s job creators and our goals for the coming year.

Arizona Manufactures Council, State & Federal Issues

ECONOMY

Make Arizona a destination of the re-shoring of manufacturing jobs. Attract and retain investment in Arizona manufacturing.

EDUCATION AND WORKFORCE

Support workforce training and educational policies that align with manufacturers’ needs. Advocate for policies that close the skills gap and prepare workers’ manufacturing careers. Improve employer access to highly skilled employees. Support Arizona’s higher education institutions providing meaningful accessible post-secondary choices for students in building the talent pipeline for high demand, well-paying jobs.

ENERGY, ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES

Support effective, evidence-based, balanced and feasible environmental policies. Ensure access to diverse and reliable energy supplies for manufacturing.

IMMIGRATION AND TRADE

Advocate for fair, predictable, and open trade policies to create a globally competitive manufacturing climate. Support efforts to modernize and expand trade and global commerce. Promote the creation of new trade agreements. Enhance workforce needs through legal immigration reform.

INFRASTRUCTURE

Assist manufacturers with infrastructure needs.

LABOR AND EMPLOYMENT

Update outdated regulations to reflect advancements in manufacturing. Protect employers’ rights and reduce unnecessary regulatory interference. Protect employee rights.

REGULATORY AND LEGAL REFORM

Expedite business permitting and licensing processes. Continue to improve Arizona’s tort and legal system. Reduce legal and regulatory barriers.

TAXATION

Advocate for a competitive tax climate. Maintain competitive tax incentives to encourage business growth and economic development.

DEFENSE, AEROSPACE & AVIATION

Maintain Arizona’s position as a premier host for military installations and national defense operations. Make Arizona a leader in autonomous systems. Support Arizona’s development of commercial and defense sectors relating to space.
